This year's Art For The Masses will be held on Saturday, Nov. 21 at the NEW Bank of America building downtown (between Grace & Walnut). The event runs from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and features art from local/regional artists - all priced at $250 or below. Stock up on holiday gifts or perhaps a little something for yourself!

Many of you know the Potvin family continues in their fight of cancer for their precious little girl, Ellie. Tim's company, Merck Pharmaceuticals has put together a fundraiser "Walk for Ellie" on Sunday, Nov. 15th from 2 - 4 pm at Wrightsville Beach Park, Shelter #2. The walk will be $10 for adults and kids walk for free. All proceeds will be donated to the Ellie Shoals Potvin Fund. The Potvin family may be able to attend but we're not certain at this point. Please come out to show your support for this family and above all, please continue to lift up this family in your prayers.

Marty and Ann Michaelson have graciously volunteered to recycle any plastic nursery containers you might be ready to get rid of. Now that plastic recycling is a requirement, Marty and Ann have made it easy for us! They have a blue recycling bin next to their mailbox and will accept all plastic nursery containers - all colors, square, round, from plants, seedlings or vegetables. If you have a large quantity, just call, they'll pick them up.

The NHC Health Dept. and NHC Schools will host 3 community forums to discuss the upcoming flu season and how the community should prepare to minimize the effects of influenza.

The 1st Annual Kinsley Classic Golf Tournament will be held on Sept. 19th at Olde Point Golf & Country Club in Hampstead. Fitness, Mike Barnhart, is setting up a workout session at Laura Lea (off Edgewater on way to F8). Mike trains several people in our area, is very motivating and his workouts are challenging. It’s a great way to burn calories and get that weekend cardio in.
We can join Laura Lea’s group but if we have enough folks interested we can look into setting something up in Vineyard Plantation.
The cost for 8, one-hour Sat. morning sessions is $120 per person.
